Marlboro, MA- (23 total Invites) A number of current and former Beantown Bullies players have been invited to participate in New England's most scouted tournament event next weekend August 17-20 @ NESC...the Beantown Summer Classichttp://www.beantownclassic.com/. This event is attended by almost every Division 1 school, a substantial number of Division 3 schools, Major Junior, Junior A and a number of teams from the NHL. This tournament feature's NHL Draft picks, players who are committed to Division 1 programs and players on their way to both. Each team is coached by an NHL Scout. Tryouts are held but this is mostly an "Invite only" tournament, very, very few make it out of tryouts. The tournament is separated by two different divisions- Pro (88-selected 91's) and Future (91, 92 and selected 93's).

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Beantown Bullies would like to congratulate Chris Kreider on committing to Boston College (Hockey East Div. 1) for '10. The 6'1 190 lb left winger from Phillips Andover Academy recorded 26 goals for Andover this season (which led the team). Chris is known for his explosive skating, size and the ability to finish what he starts. Look for Chris to be be drafted in one of the first three rounds of the 2009 NHL Draft next year. Congrats Chris!
Sydney, NS - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League have signed Beantown Bullies forward Rob McCarthy for the 2008-09 season. Rob will report to camp at the end of August. McCarthy, an '89 DOB was originally drafted by the Lewiston Maineiacs 81st overall in '05. He played 52 games for the Maineiacs. Last season Rob played in the Maritime Junior Hockey League for the Resitgouche Tigers. Congratulations Rob!
Slovakia, Czech Republic - The Beantown Bullies would like to congratulate goaltender Casey DeSmith (Rochester, NH) on being selected to participate for Team USA U18 Select Team in the 8 Nation's Tournament in Slovakia, Czech Republic Aug 12th-16th. The 8 Nation features the top 1991 born players in the world. Casey played for Berwick Academy (Prep) in South Berwick, Maine last season and will be transferring to Deerfield Academy for 2008-09. Casey recently participated in USA Hockey's Select 17 Festival in St. Cloud, MN where he was given the good news at the end of the Festival. Earlier this summer Casey was a one man show for the Bullies in the Eastern Hockey Showcase. This weekend Casey will also be participating in the THI Junior Showcase @ Hudson, NH (July 17-20) and Chowder Cup @ Foxboro, MA (July 24-27) at the end of the month for the Bullies.
Hudson, NH - The Bullies are looking for back to back championships at the THI Junior Showcase in Hudson, NH - Hosted by the Atlantic Junior Hockey League's Northern Cyclones. Last year the Bullies rolled over the competition in the event going 6-0 and out scoring their opponents 46-7. This year the competition won't have it any easier. MONCTON, NB, - Beantown Bullies Goalie Rob Liberatore (91 birth date) has been extended an invitation to the Moncton Wildcats training camp in August in preparation for the 2008-09 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season.
Liberatore, from Salem N.H. and Jonathan Taite Paul from Eskasoni N.S. are the two most recent free agents with invitations. Liberatore is a 17-year old goalie. At 5'10 and 155 pounds he played for the Salem High School Boys Hockey Team this past season in New Hampshire.
"Robert was recommended to us by current Wildcat Paul Dimitruk. Robert played Junior B as a 15-year old and had a terrific high school season this year as a 16-year old," said Danny Flynn, head coach and director of hockey operations of the Moncton Wildcats.
Winston-Salem, NC-Former Bullies Tony Resendes and Scott Estey have reached an agreement with the Twin City Cyclones in the Southern Professional Hockey League
Resendes, a Wilmington, MA native, is a former 3-time All-Star in the Atlantic Junior A Hockey League. Twice leading the league in scoring and was name league MVP in 2006-07. Tony played for the Northern Cyclones in the AJHL finishing this season in second place in scoring with 30-49-79 pts in 43 games. Tony also is a Bullies skills coach and Instructor as he works with the youth teams.
Estey, who hails from West Point, NY played this season for the Miramichi Timberwolves in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. This season Scott was tied for first place in scoring on his team with 62 points and voted "Best Forward" by his organization. Scott is a former MVP and scoring champ (35-45-41-86 pts) of the Empire Junior B Hockey League in 06-07, playing for the Brewster Bulldogs in the Empire.
Foxboro, MA - Starting on Thursday July 10th the Beantown Bullies(92/93) will compete in the Junior Chowder Cup @ Foxboro, MA & Walpole, MA for the 4th year. Last year the Bullies finished 2-1 in the tournament with their only loss to Brandywine Global Selects who would go on and win the 2007 Junior Chowder Cup. This year the Bullies will face-off in the first game against Atlantic All-Stars '93 on Thursday. Friday's game the Bullies are matched up against USA Express ‘92's and on Saturday in their final game before playoffs the Bullies square off with GBL Black.

Edmonton, Alberta - 6'6 225 lbs Beantown Bullies defenseman Tony Pisano ('89 birth) has signed with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL) and will attend their rookie camp in August. Tony is coming of a success year playing for the Pictou County Weeks Crushers in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (Canada). In 44 games Pisano finished the season with 5 assists and 219 pim going 25-1 in fights on the year and won the "Fan's Choice Award" at the end of the season. Pisano, who's slated to be in the line up for the Saint John Seadogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the 2008-09 season, is excited about his opportunity and will take full advantage. Tony signed as a free agent with the Seadogs after playing the year before in the Empire Junior B Hockey League for the now defunct Virginia Statesman in '06. You can catch Anthony playing for the Bullies in a couple of weeks in the Chowder Cup July 24-27 in Foxboro, MA.

Sydney, NS-Canada - Congratulations to Bullies forward Chris Kreider on being drafted in the 10th round 176th overall by the Saint John Seadogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Chris, the 6'2 192 lbs Junior at Phillips Andover Academy in Andover, MA and has drawn serious attention from the NHL, Major Junior and a number of Div. 1 College programs. "Chris is an excellent student and gifted hockey player" said Peter Ward. "He has tremendous pro potential and is exciting to watch play, he'll be successful no matter where he ends up". Chris recorded 26g-15a-41 pts in 25 games for Andover and led his team in goals as a sophomore. The QMJHL and CHL places about 65% of the Draft picks in the NHL every year. Chris was also selected to participate in USA Hockey's Select 17 Festival in St. Cloud, MN in July.

At Ward Hockey Schools our goal is to offer a more privatized hockey school for the young player looking to develop their skills and hockey sense. We specialize in a more 1 on 1 based hockey school, by keeping our numbers low and development high. Our game situation drills will challenge each player and help them better understand the game. Understanding the game of hockey is the first step, Bringing that knowledge to the game is the second and making the right decisions on the ice is the result. Players must learn to play with confidence and passion it this game to be successful. All of our schools also included Off-Ice training as well, players must learn in this day and age of hockey, commitment to strength, speed and agility training will skyrocket their game past their peers. You will leave this program a better, smarter hockey player.
